I have a 200 series cruiser and I just removed the existing mudflaps and used them as a template for the screw holes and made them as wide as I could (to the chassis rails) and left them about 50mm from the ground. I also have 50X3mm S/S flat on each side of the bottoms. Bought insertion rubber from Clarke rubber. Just don't get it too thin or they will bend up when travelling. I also left a little bit out past the mudguards to give them extra width. Once I put the van on I did a bit of trimming off the bottom so they don't drag on the ground.

Just my way of doing it.
