It’s that time of year again. Flies, flies, and more freakin’ flies. Sometimes it feels like, it doesn’t matter what you do, you cannot get rid of them.
Reality is, living in the land down under, flies WILL always be around, but here are a few things you can do to make your life a little easier:

Bushman’s Repellant – For me this can be the only fly spray that really works. Its heavy duty and available in a variety of forms. Check out www.bushman-repellent.com for more info.

Sweat Free – In case you hadn’t noticed, flies love sticky things. Try and keep yourselves cool and dry, which can be really difficult, whilst on the road. Stick to lightweight, 100% cotton clothing and carry around a little water spray bottle or hand towel.

Citronella Oil – This is a great way to divert those annoying creatures naturally. A good idea is to dab a few drops onto your cap, or on your light bulbs – that way when you turn on the light, the heat slowly releases the aroma. Remember to use sparingly – it’s quite potent!

Twig Trick – This would have to be one of my favourite techniques. Get yourselves a fallen branch if possible (imagine if we all broke off a perfectly healthy branch everyday) and swish away!

Cork Hat – You can call me old fashioned, but this one does work. Can be a bit of fun constructing, and a great excuse to open some wine bottles for a good cause!
